MILAN – Both coach Sebastian De La Fuente and Gloria Marinelli spoke following Inter’s 5-3 defeat to Milan in the Coppa Itala:

Sebastian De La Fuente: "We’re feeling positive because we knew we were facing a very strong team. I don’t think there was a lot to choose between the sides – we’re happy with what our girls have done. After conceding two goals due to our own mistakes, we managed to come back to take the lead, and we then had further chances to score. I was also pleased with what we did when we had the ball. They then showed their strength in the second half as we started to tire. I am of the opinion that we were excellent for 70 minutes. I’m very proud of my team. I’m also proud of how we’re doing in the league and our performances in every single game we play. On Sunday we’ll head to Rome to face the team who are currently third in the league. It’ll be a very difficult match."

Gloria Marinelli: "We did well to play as well as we did in the first half: we held our own against the Serie A leaders. Aside from a few moments in the second half, we’re happy with what we did, and we can learn a lot from this match. There is room for improvement in terms of our fitness levels and we were a bit too stretched in the final stages, leaving them with space to exploit. I was feeling very emotional, but when the match began I managed to channel these feelings and turn them into something positive. Leaving my mark on the first ever women’s derby is a special feeling – it’s impossible to describe. The Italian National Team? I’m hoping to receive a call-up, but first and foremost I’m concentrating on doing my best for Inter."
