MILAN – At the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium yesterday afternoon, Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti and Alberto Bassani, Community Relations FC Internazionale Milano, met players from Sporting 4e who are taking part in the Quarta Categoria competition (www.quartacategoria.it).

Quarta Categoria is a 7-a-side football competition for players with cognitive disabilities. It was introduced before the Senate of the Republic in Rome on 18 January 2017 and is set to take place for the third time, with the numbers taking part constantly increasing. 10 regional committees, 105 special teams, 100 adopting clubs and more than 2000 members are now involved and united by the same message: #Iwanttoplayfootball.

The unique feature of the competition is the adoption idea: the teams involved are “adopted” by professional Serie A, Serie B and Lega Pro clubs. Those present were representing the whole team, which consists of almost 40 players, and received official training kits and Inter shirts. The team will take to the pitch in Nerazzurri gear to play in the competition, which is set to take place in Milan at the C.S Bettinelli on via Lago di Nemi.
