UNDER-18, INTER 5-5 RENATE

The visitors came back from three goals down to leave with a draw

MILAN - It was a crazy game at the Suning Youth Development Centre in Memory of Giacinto Facchetti. On matchday three of the Dante Berretti season, Inter vs. Renate finished 5-5. The visitors pulled off an incredible comeback after being 5-2 down to pull back Gianmario Corti’s side at the end and leave with a point.

Inter started on the front foot and took the lead in the eighth minute with a Mitrea penalty after Confalonieri was fouled. In the 17th minute, a Krasniqi bicycle kick put Corti’s side two goals up. The number eleven scored another in the 20th minute, making the most of a defensive mistake. At the end of the half, Renate got one back through Cazzaniga.

The second half began with another goal from the Nerazzurri. In the 51st minute, Cancello turned home after a Mitrea shot hit the post. Two minutes later, Renate scored through Castria while Serpe was injured to score past Tononi. Inter seemed to have killed the game off in the 58th minute when Krasniqi got his hat-trick. Then, the game turned on its head. Cazzaniga and Castria brought it back to 5-4 before Castria then got his hat-trick to make it all square. The Under-18s were stopped by an incredible comeback and didn’t have the strength to win it in the end.
