Not long after, the Nerazzurri were awarded a penalty kick, with Esposito keeping his cool to put the Nerazzurri 1-0 up. There was late pressure from the Spaniards but the home side stood strong to win the 1st Memorial Pierluigi Casiraghi.

As for the third-place play-off, Anderlecht beat Genoa 4-1 thanks to strikes from Van Laere, Yanga, Michez and an own goal from Cavalli.

This ended two days dedicated to sport and the memory of Pierluigi Casiraghi – the historic Nerazzurri scout who was always looking for that spark that would make him fall in love with players.

Many individuals were present at the tournament, including CEO Alessandro Antonello, sporting director Piero Ausilio, vice Dario Baccin and Head of the Nerazzurri’s Elite Academy Roberto Samaden, in what was the perfect way to commemorate Casiraghi and his memory.

The Nerazzurri CEO honoured the Casiraghi family and discussed the important role that Pierluigi had had within the world of Inter: “It was a pleasure for Inter to organise a tournament to remember such a special man.
