RUSSIA 2018: MIRANDA'S BRAZIL BEAT SERBIA TO REACH THE ROUND OF 16

Goals from Paulinho and Thiago Silva secured a 2-0 win for the Seleçao on Wednesday evening

MOSCOW - Captained by Joao Miranda, Brazil beat Serbia 2-0 in their third World Cup fixture at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow, subsequently finishing top of Group E.

The Seleçao progressed through to the round of 16 thanks to goals from Paulinho and Thiago Silva, as they now prepare to face Mexico.

The Nerazzurri defender made his 50th appearance for Brazil on Wednesday evening, remaining on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes.
