MODENA - In the first leg of the Under-16 quarter-final, Gabriele Bonacina’s side claimed a good draw away at Sassuolo. Sartori opened the scoring for the home side before Barazzetta equalised in the 58th minute from the penalty spot.
At the Stadio Zanti in Modena, Sassuolo tried to make the most of their physicality while the Nerazzurri relied more on technique. In the 32nd minute, a classic counterattacking move saw the home side take the lead. Oddei won the ball and Sartori converted beyond Stankovic from the cross. After conceding, Bonacina’s side look to respond and were camped in the opposition half.
The second half began with the Nerazzurri still pressing in search of a leveller. In the 58th minute, a cross from Mirarchi led to a handball from Simonetta and a penalty was awarded to Inter. From the spot, Barazzetta beat Vitale to make it 1-1. Before the end, there were chances for both sides but the match ended all square. It will all be left to play for next week when the teams meet again at the Suning Youth Development Centre in Memory of Giacinto Facchetti.
