MILAN - At the Suning Youth Development Centre in Memory of Giacinto Facchetti, the Under-15 quarter-final between Inter and Genoa finished 2-2. After the 2-0 away win, a draw was enough for Annoni’s side to qualify for the semi-final.
The Nerazzurri started brightly and had various chances to take the lead. As time went on, Genoa became more dangerous and took the lead in the 25th minute through a Biaggi goal from a set piece routine. The sides went to the break with the scoreline at 0-1. In the second half, Annoni’s team came back out with determination and levelled ten minutes after the restart from a Magazzù penalty. Seven minutes later, the Nerazzurri completed the comeback as Gnonto beat three men before applying the finish with a shot across goal. Just when it seemed that Inter would also win the second leg, Genoa equalised right at the death through Castiglione. The result didn’t change anything however as the lead from the first leg sent the Nerazzurri to the Under-15 league's Final Four playoffs to be played between 11th and 14th June.
