TOPOLINO CELEBRATES 110 YEARS OF INTER

The weekly comic on Wednesday 14th March has a special cover, three short stories and a long interview with Icardi, Zanetti, Toldo and Spalletti

MILAN - Topolino has always been alert to news and the celebration of large sporting events so its story this week concerns one of the biggest clubs in Italy and the world and the celebration of its 110th anniversary. The cover shows captain Icarduck on the front of a very special edition. For the weekly edition, the famous Italian cartoon built a team of 17 young Inter fans who wore the Toporeporter shirt as they were special guests at Appiano Gentile to live out one of their dreams. They had the chance to interview Mauro Icardi, Javier Zanetti, Luciano Spalletti and the great former goalkeeper Francesco Toldo who is now currently head of the Inter Forever project.

The interviews from the week are accompanied by three fun short stories written by Francesca Agrati and illustrated by Alessandro Perin where the four Nerazzurri figures become comic book characters! Readers will see Poldo and Zampetti as Toldo and Zanetti are depicted while their interview is disrupted by the usual mess created by Paperoga. Icarduck then comes to the rescue and amazes everyone with a header before the Coach Spallucci-Spalletti is involved in very special training session.

"With Topolino, the link between sport and comics is always strong," said the Topolino Director Valentina De Poli. "After the ‘Together against discrimination in football’ project and the celebration of various different sporting champions, we couldn’t miss the chance to celebrate one of the most loved teams in Italy with our characters. Our young Toporeporter realised a dream in meeting their favourite players and this is part of the magic of Topolino. To dream big and approach life with a smile. At times, as in this case, we’re able to make dreams come true!"
