MILAN - Following our away defeat to Genoa last time out, Inter will now be back in action at the Meazza this Saturday. The Nerazzurri will be facing Roberto De Zerbi’s Benevento side at 20:45 CET during their week 26 fixture in Serie A TIM.
The earlier season encounter between the two sides, played out on October 1st 2017 at the Stadio Vigorito, saw Luciano Spalletti’s side win 2-1 thanks to a brace from Marcelo Brozovic. Marco D’Alessandro was the man to get on the scoresheet for the hosts. Now, fresh from their recent 3-2 home win over Crotone, Benevento have 10 points in the league standings but still sit bottom. So far, the Giallorossi have picked up three wins, one draw and 21 defeats. This includes 18 goals scored and 58 conceded.
From a statistical point of view, tomorrow’s match will only be the second ever time the two teams have faced each other in Serie A. As for Spalletti and De Zerbi (who replaced Marco Baroni at the end of October), their only previous clash was when Roma faced Palermo in 2016.
Spalletti has named a 22-man squad for Inter vs. Benevento, with the only player unavailable being Tommaso Berni, who’s been replaced by Marco Pissardo.
The match referee will be Luca Pairetto from Nichelino, who’ll be assisted by Longo and Santoro. Sacchi will be the Fourth Official, while VAR will be operated by Maresca and Fiorito.
A number of ticket promotions are still available for Inter vs. Benevento at San Siro, including one reserved exclusively just for University students.
