APPIANO GENTILE - Ever since he made his debut for the first team, he’s had the nickname, The Kid. Now Davide Santon has spoken to Inter TV on what is his 27th birthday: “I want to thank everyone who has wished me a happy birthday, however, I still feel young. As for how I celebrated, I was in training. I’m used to it now as it’s happened so many times over the years.”
Santon also gave his verdict on Inter’s season so far: “The last few months were a bit strange for me. I got injured in pre-season, while I then recovered and found some space in the team. I am happy with how the squad is doing, despite some of our recent negative results. We are third in the league standings and we are pushing ahead all well aware of what our goal is for this season. As for me being the wildcard in defence, if needed I can also play in the middle. I’ll be available if the coach needs me.”
Lastly, he issued a rallying cry ahead of the Nerazzurri’s next fixture: “We must go to Florence with the right mentality and one of a big team. We must take on Fiorentina with the intention of winning. They have improved a lot since the opening day of the season and it will not be an easy match.”
