REGGIO EMILIA – “To become a strong team and consolidate on what we’ve done so far, we need to get through moments such as these. We’ll do so in an absolute sense of calm.” This was the most important message after Luciano Spalletti’s analysis following Sassuolo-Inter as the Nerazzurri lost for the second time this season. “We’ve lost two games but I’ve seen good things in these games, perhaps there hasn’t been the most consistency and there have been some moments which weren’t the smartest.”
“We shouldn’t have conceded on the counterattack, we were too timid but we created the conditions to win. On the whole, we put in a good performance today but there are details to analyse and we need to be more cunning at times. I’ll certainly have something to underline but overall it’s about reasoning as a team. It doesn’t seem to me that there are lots of things to drill into them because the team turned up for the match and spent 60 minutes in the opposition area. We needed something different in the final third and some more focus in certain situations and we paid a serious price for this. The reaction was there, even if we didn’t score.”
To finish, there was the usual question about the transfer market: “I’ve spoken clearly with my guys, I have strong players but obviously if there’s a situation that we can benefit from, we’ll bring it home because we have good directors.”
