PRIMAVERA TIM CUP: INTER 0-1 ATALANTA

Stefano Vecchi’s side fell just short against the team from Bergamo during Wednesday’s quarter-final

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - The Nerazzurri Under-19 side’s TIM Cup adventure came to a close during Wednesday’s quarter-final against Atalanta, as they were beaten 1-0 during a hard-fought affair at the Stadio Breda.

Inter got off to a solid start during the first half, with Zaniolo instantly trying his luck from long range. They then very nearly broke the deadlock in the 20th minute, although Emmers failed to find the target as he smashed his strike against the crossbar. Atalanta soon responded, with Nivokazi forcing a solid save from Dekic in the 36th minute. Despite further chances for both teams, the interval soon arrived with the game still locked at 0-0.

Neither team made any chances at the interval, although Atalanta swiftly made the crucial breakthrough come the 52nd minute. Having been teed up by Kulusevski, Bolis did well to fire a precise finish past Dekic. Soon followed were a number of changes from coach Stefano Vecchi, however, despite spells of sustained pressure from the Nerazzurri attack, they were just unable to find the equaliser. A final flourish from the likes of Pinamonti and Zaniolo brought the hope of an Inter revival, however, the game eventually finished with the away side winning 1-0 and consequently progressing through to the semi-final.
