MILAN - Luciano Spalletti’s side are ready to make their TIM Cup debut, as Inter face Pordenone on Tuesday night. Our collaboration with Opta reveals all the most interesting stats ahead of tomorrow’s cup tie.
This is the clubs’ first meeting. Since the TIM Cup changed to its present format (in 2008/09), Inter have reached the quarter-finals eight time out of nine, losing only once in this round, to Udinese in 2014. Pordenone have only reached the round of sixteen for the first time in their history. They have won four games so far this season, conceding a single goal in the last three.
Alessandria was the last Lega Pro club to go beyond the TIM Cup round of last sixteen, back in 2015/16 when they reached the semi-finals.
Since his arrival at Inter in January 2015, Marcelo Brozovic is the Nerazzurri player to have scored the most TIM Cup goals (four), all of which have come at the San Siro. Andrea Ranocchia has scored twice in his last four TIM Cup home games.
Joao Miranda and Danilo D’Ambrosio are suspended for the Tuesday night encounter.
