PRIMAVERA 1 TIM: INTER 3-0 TORINO

Stefano Vecchi's side's comfortable victory on Sunday now pushes them to the top of the league standings

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Following Atalanta’s draw against Napoli, the Under-19 Nerazzurri side did not waste their chance to secure top spot in the Primavera 1 TIM league standings on Sunday. Playing out their matchday 10 encounter against Torino at the Stadio Breda, the home side eased to a 3-0 win thanks to an initial own goal from Fiordaliso and then strikes from Rover and Odgaard.

It was a balanced first half in Sesto San Giovanni, as both teams were both physical and primarily focused on tactics. Inter did test Coppola on a number of occasions, although mostly from long-range. The trio of Zaniolo, Gavioli and Colidio all tried their luck, although the Granata shot-stopper was present on every occasion to keep the score level. With half-time fast-approaching, the deadlock was finally broken in fortunate fashion, as Fiordaliso put the ball into his own net following a Gavioli cross. Beffa was caught out by the scuffed effort, with Inter heading into the interval with a 1-0 lead.

The second half began with changes for Torino, although they did not have their first real second-half chance until the 57th minute. Inter then responded seven minutes later, although Coppola was capable of keeping out Corrado. However, the 76th minute finally saw Inter double their lead thanks to a superb solo goal from Rover, who initially skipped past several opponents before firing the ball into the bottom corner.

Torino’s hopes of securing a result were then worsened after Ferigra was given a red card for a last-ditch foul on Rover. Odgaard made it three for the home side late on, whose latest victory has now pushed them up to top spot in the league standings. They’ll next be in action this Wednesday, taking on Novara in the last 16 of the Primavera TIM Cup.
