ESBJERG - Having already beaten Esbjerg 4-1 in their first leg encounter, Stefano Vecchi’s Under-19 side will tomorrow be taking part in the return fixture at the Blue Water Arena in the second round of the Domestic Champions Path: “The risks are the same as those that occurred in the opening minutes of the first game,” said the Nerazzurri coach to Inter TV. “We headed out onto the pitch tense and with a bit of fear. I hope that the result can help us ease up a bit and help us put in a good performance at a beautiful stadium. We must start as if it’s 0-0, without thinking about our lead.”
The coach then discussed Friday’s vital league victory over Roma: “I want to see the same spirit. We put in a great display in terms of commitment, desire and determination. We can’t come here just to defend the result from the first leg. Obviously I will change a few things to promote freshness, however, I will not be experimenting because the match tomorrow is decisive in terms of our progression.”
Lombardoni and Co. are currently in the midst of a full schedule, with a match against Torino coming up on Sunday, while they’ll then make their debut in the Primavera TIM Cup against Novara on Wednesday 29th: “We must continue on this path. We are in a really good position in the league and also in a positive situation in the UEFA Youth League. Therefore, we must try to capitalise on this good spell of form, trying to secure points and playing with the same spirit shown against Roma.”
