AUSILIO: “OUR PROJECT IS HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION”

A few minutes ahead of kick-off, the Nerazzurri sporting director spoke to Mediaset Premium Sport

MILAN – Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio spoke to Mediaset Premium Sport just a few minutes prior to tonight's game against Atalanta at the San Siro: "It’s an important game for us. The team has found some consistency in terms of performances. We are at the beginning of a new project with coach Spalletti and things are heading in the right direction."

The winter transfer window is approaching fast and Ausilio has since had this to say: "Our duty is to monitor good players. I am not a big fan of winter transfers, it’s rare to sign a player who’s capable of increasing the quality of the squad. Javier Pastore? We have no talks going on right now. Those who are not playing regularly at the moment, like Joao Mario and Brozovic, are still giving their all in training. All of the players will have their chance, as with Santon tonight. Kondogbia is playing well at Valencia? He informed us of his desire to leave, he wanted to return to Spain and that’s why we loaned him out. We are happy with the present squad. Borja Valero and Vecino have arrived in that position and they are doing very well."

Ausilio also spoke of Miranda: "He was away with Brazil but he seems to have recovered completely. He’s getting along well with Skriniar, and that is having a positive impact on the performances of both."
