PRIMAVERA 1 TIM: ROMA 1-2 INTER

Stefano Vecchi’s side secured an impressive week nine win on Friday, with goals from Zaniolo and Rover helping cancel out Coly’s initial equaliser.

ROME - Facing off against Roma at the Stadio Tre Fontane in week nine of the Primavera 1 TIM season, Stefano Vecchi’s side today triumphed prior to their Denmark departure to take on Esbjerg in their UEFA Youth League second leg.

The Nerazzurri got off to a strong start in the match, with Colidio forcing a good early save from Greco. Roma soon responded through Celar, who skipped past two men, before his strike was then turned out for a corner by Lombardoni. Inter continued pushing however, and soon broke the deadlock in the 38th minute from the penalty spot. Lobardoni was brought down by Coly in the box, before Zaniolo then successfully fired the ball past Greco. Just prior to the interval, Roma pressed for the equaliser, however Pissardo pulled off a fine save to deny Coly.

With no changes at half time, Roma subsequently pushed hard for a goal, with Pissardo present once again to keep out Celar. Their equaliser arrived not long after however, with Coly dispatching a cross from Riccardi on the right. The match soon became increasingly tense, with Colidio first trying his luck, before Pissardo then produced two strong blocks to keep out both Antonucci and Celar.

The Nerazzurri regained the lead in the 81st minute, with Zaniolo teeing up Rover in the area, who did well to stick the ball past Greco. Stefano Vecchi’s side came close to making it 3-1 on numerous occasions in the final few minutes, however they eventually just had to settle for a one-goal advantage and all three points. They now move up to 19 points in the standings and momentarily to the top of the league.
