VECCHI: "IT'S AN IMPORTANT LEAD AHEAD OF THE RETURN LEG"

The Primavera Coach after Inter vs. Esbjerg: "We made things more complicated with a couple of mistakes but we then put things back on track"

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Stefano Vecchi can smile after his side’s 4-1 win over Esbjerg fB in the first leg of the second round of the UEFA Youth League - Domestic Champions Path. After going a goal down to the Danish side, Inter recovered to build up an important lead for the second leg. "We started a bit tense and we made a couple of mistakes which made life more complicated," said the Under-19 Coach to Inter TV.  "However, we were controlling the game. We were able to get back on track with Pinamonti’s free kick and their numerical inferiority made things easier for us."

"Esbjerg are a team who fight and we have to be careful in the second leg. We can’t make mistakes and be complacent." There were then some questions about individuals. "Pinamonti? Andrea is a player that everyone would like to have. He makes the difference, he’s done it in the past and training with the first team is helping him to develop. Lots of members of the squad are developing that way. A fresh midfield? The boys are all training well and are ready when they’re called upon. Compliments to Gavioli and Brignoli, it wouldn’t be a mistake to say they were the best players on the pitch."
