PRIMAVERA 1 TIM: SAMPDORIA 0-2 INTER

The Under-19 Nerazzurri outfit eased past their Ligurian opponents during their matchday five encounter on Friday

GENOA - With Luca Facchetti standing in for the suspended Stefano Vecchi, Inter’s Primavera side today took on Sampdoria ahead of Friday’s second leg in the first round of the UEFA Youth League (scheduled for Wednesday 18th October in Kiev against Dynamo Kyiv).

The first chances of the match were inspired by Sala, who initially fired a strike just over the crossbar, before then playing in Mutton who had a chance saved well by Krapikas. Inter then broke the deadlock in the 24th minute, with Lombardoni latching onto a right-sided corner from Gnoukouri  , raising well above his opponent to head the ball into the back of the net. It then took just three minutes for the Nerazzurri bag their second, with this time Mutton firing the ball accurately past Krapikas. The home side soon tried get themselves back into the game, although were unable to beat Inter’s in-form shot-stopper Pissardo.

Following the interval, Sampdoria quickly threatened through Vujcic, although Pissardo produced yet another strong save. Soon after Inter came to close to stretching further out into the lead, only to be kept out once again by an impressive Krapikas. With Nerazzurri safely in control of the match, soon came their first changes, with Odgaard and Gavioli coming on for Belkheir and Mutton. The latter substitute went extremely close to snatching a third in the 82nd minute, only for the Sampdoria No.1 to save his side once again. The hosts pushed hard during the final stages of the match, although the Inter rearguard were never really in any true danger.
