CHANGZHOU - Luciano Spalletti felt there were positives to take from Inter's first match on Chinese soil after his side drew 1-1 with Schalke.
"Both teams played well. This is a good starting point for us," he began.
"We looked very tidy in the first half and strung some really good moves together. We have something we can build on in training and improve further.
"We'd like to wish Schalke all the best for their season.
“Tours can be mentally and physically stressful and that's why they have to be organised very well. It's not easy to work in temperatures like this – it can even be risky for the muscles.
“We're moving in the right direction, though. I saw the right attitude and they kept it up for the whole game. If we carry on like this, we'll improve.
“I saw the right ideas both in the first half and in the second. We gave the ball away cheaply at times but overall we did well.”
