INTER END BRUNICO TRAINING CAMP WITH DEFEAT TO NURNBERG

Eder's second-half strike wasn't enough for the Nerazzurri to claim a second win during their stay in Val Pusteria following Sunday's victory over Wattens

RISCONE DI BRUNICO – Inter ended their pre-season training camp in Brunico with a 2-1 defeat to Nurnberg on Saturday evening.

After a goalless first half, the Germans took a two-goal lead before Eder reduced the arrears when he was played in by Gabriel Barbosa.

After an edgy opening 15 minutes in which Inter sought to exploit Jonathan Biabiany's pace down the wing, it was Nurnberg who almost took the lead when Eduard Lowen forced an excellent fingertip save from Samir Handanovic.

Sebastian Kerk then went close before Marcelo Brozovic was presented with a gilt-edged opportunity from Eder's cross in the 27th minute but scuffed his shot with just the keeper to beat.

The second half was much livelier. Shaken up by seven half-time substitutions, Inter almost broke the deadlock when Yuto Nagatomo whipped in a decent delivery that Eder couldn't quite turn into the net.

An Inter mistake then let in Rurik Gislason, who angled a firm, clinical finish past Daniele Padelli to make it 1-0.

Six minutes later Nurnberg added a second when Mikael Ishak turned in Krek's cross.

Spalletti's men responded and halved the deficit in the 65th minute, Eder latching onto Gabriel Barbosa's clever through ball, rounding the keeper and finishing with ease.

After Ishak missed from close range, the Nerazzurri almost found an equaliser when Brozovic's free kick was deflected onto the bar by Georg Margreitter.

The tempo dropped after that and the action petered out as Inter ended their Brunico training camp with a friendly defeat.

The squad will now head back to Milan for a two-day rest before departing on their tour of China and Singapore on Tuesday.
