NANJING – In Nanjing, a former capital of China and now the capital of Jiangsu, Wang Zijian’s Inter Club Crusader China is bringing together local Nerazzurri supporters, providing them with a place to show their passion for all things Inter.
We caught up with Wang Zijian to hear about his club.
Where did your passion for the Nerazzurri come from?
“My passion for Inter began in 1995. As soon as I clapped eyes on the shirt, I knew that Inter were my team. Black and blue are my two favourite colours.”
How strong is your bond with Inter?
“We believe that having that connection to the club is crucial. It’s really important to get behind the team. I’ve always supported Inter, no matter what. When I got married, the Inter colours were everywhere, and every time Inter come to China, we follow them all round the country.”
When was the club founded and what kind of activities do you organise?
“Inter Club Crusader China was set up in 2007 and officially recognised in 2016. The members get together to watch matches and support the team. We also organise football matches and parties, all of which have a black and blue theme! Through social networks like Weibo and WeChat, we discuss the latest news and chat about the players. One representative of our club even visited the magnificent San Siro stadium in Milan?”
What does being an Inter fan mean to you?
“It’s like a faith. You have to honour it and be passionate about it.”
