EMPOLI - Danilo D'Ambrosio and Roberto Gagliardini turned out for a youthful Italy side on Wednesday night as the Azzurri put eight unanswered goals past San Marino in a friendly match at the Stadio Castellani in Empoli.
Giampiero Ventura selected the Inter duo in his starting line-up, with D'Ambrosio playing the full 90 minutes and Gagliardini 45.
Gianluca Lapadula struck a hat-trick while there were further goals for Gian Marco Ferrari, Andrea Petagna, Mattia Caldara and Matteo Politano, together with a Giovanni Bonini own goal.
