MILAN – Trent Sainsbury spoke of his pride after he became the first Australian ever to play for F.C. Internazionale in Sunday’s 5-2 win over Udinese.
"It’s an honour to be able to play a match for Inter and I’m delighted to have done it here at San Siro," said the defender. "It was important to play well when I came on. This squad is packed with talent and it wasn’t easy for me to find space.
"I’ve been surrounded by great professionals both on and off the pitch – you learn something every day. You can’t let yourself be intimidated on the pitch. The yellow card? I just wanted to show that I was up for it."
