D’AMBROSIO: "WE HAVE TO HONOUR THIS SHIRT"

The Nerazzurri defender joined Ivan Perisic at the unveiling of the 2017/18 Home kit

MILAN – Ivan Perisic and Danilo D’Ambrosio attended the unveiling of the next season’s Home kit, which was held at Inter Store Milano in the heart of the city.

During the event, the defender shared his impressions about the shirt, as well as summing up the last few games of this season and revealing the objectives for 2017/18.

"It’s the first time I’ve seen the new shirt," D’Ambrosio began. "It shows off the club colours, so I like it a lot. We hope to be able to honour it.

"As for the victory at the Stadio Olimpico, wins lead on to more wins, especially when you’re up against top sides like Lazio. We want to finish the season on a high against Udinese and give our fans something to cheer about. They’ve stuck behind us all season, no matter what. Inter shouldn’t be in this position in the table, so we have to get back into the Champions League next season.

"We’ve had highs and lows this year. We players have to hold our hands up and start again from the good things we did at times. There was a lot of disappointment when we knew third place wasn’t possible anymore, but it’s inexplicable and unacceptable to give up as we did in so many games. We’re representing Inter and we should have targeted fourth place.

"Individual targets are secondary to satisfaction as a team," the full back concluded. "I’ve broken into the national team and earned a contract renewal, but it would have been so much better if we achieved the club’s aims."
