MILAN – There were international tournament wins for Inter’s Giovanissimi Regionali B, Esordienti and Pulcini 2006 teams over the Easter weekend.
Fabio Sacco’s U12s kicked things off in Catalunya with victory in the Mundialito 2017, which saw participation from teams from all over the world. Having coasted through the group stages with nine points from a possible nine, the Nerazzurri beat Supersport US, a Brazil XI, Angola and Sporting Clube in the knock-out rounds before edging past Levante on penalties in the final to win the cup.
Over in France, the Pulcini 2006 saw off competition from 143 other teams – including Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona, Sevilla, Benfica, Olympique Marseille and Monaco – to win the Mini Mondial tournament. Gianni Vivabene’s side won all ten of their games, conceding just one goal and scoring 33 as they claimed the trophy after beating Sevilla in the final.
Last but certainly not least, Marco Sala’s Giovanissimi Regionali B team won the XIX Torneo Internazionale del Garda e Valle Sabbia - Città di Gavardo, beating Gavardo, Bassano and Venezia in the group stages before defeating Feralpisalò and Vicenza to lift the cup.
