APPIANO GENTILE – It’s been a week to remember for Roberto Gagliardini who made his debut for Italy during the friendly win against the Netherlands on Wednesday.
Upon his return to Appiano Gentile, the Nerazzurri No.5 revealed to Inter Channel what was going through his head on that massive occasion.
"My debut was an amazing experience," Gagliardini began. "I’m so happy and I’ll remember this moment for ever. A dream of mine has come through, but it’s just a starting point. I hope to continue showing my worth both for Inter and the Azzurri."
Roberto was one of four Inter players called up into Gianpiero Ventura’s squad, along with Daniele D’Ambrosio, Antonio Candreva and Eder.
"Seeing four Inter players in the national team after such a long time was a nice feeling and does a credit to the club. It’s up to us to keep on trying to give our all."
However, Gagliardini won’t be dwelling on his first appearance in senior international football; in fact, he’s immediately switched his mind to Sampdoria.
"It will be tough on Monday," he predicted, "because it’s never easy to get back up and running after the international break. We’ve got nine massive games left and we’ll try to pick up as many points as possible."
