EDER SCORES AS GAGLIARDINI AND D'AMBROSIO MAKE ITALY DEBUTS

The Inter striker levels the scores against Netherlands before Ventura's men go on to triumph 2-1 in friendly at Amsterdam ArenA

MILAN - Roberto Gagliardini and Danilo D'Ambrosio made their Italy debuts and Eder scored as the Azzurri came from behind to beat the Netherlands 2-1 in a friendly on Tuesday night.

The forward, named in Giampiero Ventura's starting line-up at Amsterdam ArenA, equalised with a long-range effort in the 11th minute after Alessio Romagnoli had inadvertently handed the hosts the lead with an own goal.

Gagliardini entered the fray in the 37th minute following an injury to Daniele De Rossi while D'Ambrosio made a brief cameo appearance late on.

Antonio Candreva, who was involved for the full 90 minutes in Italy's 2-0 victory over Albania on Friday, did not play in Amsterdam.

Elsewhere Andrea Pinamonti was unused as Italy U19s lost 1-0 to Sweden in their final European U19 Championship elite round match.
