APPIANO GENTILE – With the race for Champions League football hotting up as we approach the business end of the season, Stefano Pioli has urged Inter to keep focusing on the present and taking each game as it comes.
The Nerazzurri travel to Torino on Saturday night looking to build on two big back-to-back wins against Cagliari and Atalanta.
Speaking to Mediaset Premium ahead of the game, Pioli said: “We just need to keep doing what we're doing. We're playing well with the right approach and mentality. We know that every game comes with its own difficulties and Torino have picked up lots of points at home so we must be ready to put everything we've got into it and produce the best performance we possibly can.
“The top five keep winning – that's why they're up there. All we can do is focus on winning our next game.”
"We're working well and we're half way to where we want to be but we'll weigh everything up at the end of the season.
"There are other people working for the future but we're very focused on the present. If we do well in the present, we can lay the foundations for a great future.
“There's a strong work ethic and great values at this club. The club and the fans are right behind us. We have everything we need to raise our level even further and become even more competitive."
The fans could be heard chanting Pioli's name during the game against Atalanta.
“There's no hiding the fact that I'm very happy at this club. I feel good and focused and it was really nice to hear the fans on Sunday. It gives me added incentive to keep doing our jobs as best we can.”
