D'AMBROSIO: "WIN ACHIEVED THROUGH HUMILITY"

The Nerazzurri defender after Inter v Atalanta: "Perfect performance from the group. We kept the tempo high"

MILAN – In and among the goalscoring mayhem, you could be forgiven for missing yet another solid performance from Danilo D'Ambrosio.

"It was a perfect display from the group," the full back began in his post-match interview. "We wanted to win, add consistency to our results and leapfrog Atalanta in the league.

"They play fast, quality football, but we kept the tempo very high. We played with humility but with the quality befitting a top side. Pioli has brought a clear identity to the team. Everyone who plays gives it their all and that makes everything easier. I'm pleased the coach is backing me and I'm aiming to repay him 100%.

"Representing your country is the dream for anyone who plays football. I try to give everything I have for the team. If Giampiero Ventura decides to call me up, I will be over the moon.

"The gaffer said that to continue enjoying ourselves in the second half, we had to continue running hard," D'Ambrosio concluded. "We have to take things one game at a time. It's nice to win big but the most important thing in football is always what's coming next, never what has just happened."
