MILAN — Piero Ausilio found time to analyse Inter v Atalanta shortly before the two sides kick off.
"It’s an important game for us because it could bring us closer to our objective," the sporting director began.
Ausilio spoke about Roberto Gagliardini, who is coming up against his former employers this afternoon.
"We’re pleased with how he’s fit in. We’ve had our eyes on him since the beginning and he convinced us straight away. He’s the right player and man, and he is producing the quality we initially noted in him."
Ausilio concluded with a few words on Mauro Icardi’s lack of inclusion in the Argentina squad.
"Is he Edgardo Bauza’s third choice? That’s better for us because Mauro can rest! Joking aside, we think very highly of him. He’s our captain and if he’s able to nail down a spot in the national team, we’ll be very happy. Otherwise, we’ll be pleased to have him all to ourselves."
