GAGLIARDINI: "I WANT TO HELP THE TEAM OUT EVEN MORE"

Nerazzurri midfielder chats to Inter Channel: "I'm pleased with my first few months at Inter. I hope to repay the fans' faith with my performances"

APPIANO GENTILE - Roberto Gagliardini gave a brief interview to Inter Channel after today's training session.

The midfielder first spoke about the award he received last night in Milan for being a great role model: "I feel very proud to be given an award like that," he revealed. "Being a role model to little kids is a big responsibility and it's nice to know I inspire them."

What advice would he give to a child dreaming of following in his footsteps? The Italy man is in no doubt: "Kids must above all have fun because football is an incredible sport which offers so much. Plus it's important to work hard because it's not easy to make it to the top. That was the advice I was given as a kid and I still follow it to this day. Determination is crucial. You should approach every training session as if it were a match."

Finally, Gagliardini touched upon his and Inter's current form: "I'm pleased with how my time at Inter has started and I hope my influence can grow further over the coming months. We have to bounce straight back after the Roma defeat and we want to win at Cagliari. I didn't expect to become a fans' favourite so quickly and I hope to repay their faith on the pitch."
