"A GOOD TEAM PERFORMANCE REQUIRED AGAINST ROMA"

Toldo, Ferri and Bergomi speak to Inter Channel about "The Great Wall" and Sunday evening's meeting against the Giallorossi

MILAN - Inter Forever project manager Francesco Toldo was joined by Riccardo Ferri for the Italian premiere of "The Great Wall". The pair spoke to Inter Channel, taking a trip down memory lane before discussing Stefano Pioli's current crop: "It's definitely different to be meeting up as a team at the cinema. When we were playing there was barely a cinema to be found! No, I'm joking. That's how we bonded as a team back in our day too. It was a way of getting to know your team-mates away from the dressing room.

"Inter go into the Roma match in good form and they'll need to erect a Great Wall to halt the Giallorossi's exciting frontline. Inter have been on an incredible run and it will be a very tight match. We have to tap into the enthusiasm around the place but either way the run has been outstanding.

"We're very united at Inter Forever too, albeit with a different spirit. We're less hung up on getting results and we have a laugh together."

At the end of the film, Beppe Bergomi also chatted to Inter Channel: "It was a fascinating film and it's a lovely story. Inter need to produce a perfect team performance to beat Roma on current form. But they've already shown that by winning nine out of their last 10 matches. This side is growing in belief and they've got something about them thanks to the work of Pioli and the club.

"Roma have a Europa League second leg to negotiate but they can rest players. This is a crucial two-week period for Inter if they're to achieve their target of Champions League football. Up to now the sides above them have been going at quite some pace.

"It's important to play as a team but individual players can prove to be the match winners. Icardi is the centre forward and, while the team did well to win two games without their captain, it's a massive boost to have a finisher like him up top. If I had to pick someone out I'd say Gagliardini. I'm a big fan of his and, though I didn't coach him at Atalanta, I'm very proud to see how he's making a name for himself at Inter."
