MILAN – Sebastien Frey is among the Nerazzurri legends who will be pulling on the famous shirt once again to represent Inter Forever against Roma Legends on Sunday at 19:00 CET.
In the build-up to that contest taking place within the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, the former goalkeeper recalled some of the great clashes with the Giallorossi during his time at the club.
"The matches against Roma were always very competitive because they had great players,” Frey said. "The best memory I have is from an away match: I played just over half an hour in that incredible 5-4 win at the Stadio Olimpico.
"It was a special game because of the beautiful football on show and the fact you didn't know how it would finish, and obviously because we won as well. [Gianluca] Pagliuca got injured and I, barely an adult who was sat there just before celebrating the goals like a nutter, was thrown into the mix. Crazy. [Giuseppe] Bergomi embraced me at the end because it wasn't easy for a youngster like me."
Frey has already played a few times with the Nerazzurri legends among themselves, but this will be the first time he's represented Inter Forever in a match against other opposition.
"As I've always said," Frey concluded, "I've played for a few clubs in Italy and respected them all, but Inter were my first love, the first to bring me to Italy. Pulling on the shirt once more for Inter Forever is a source of great pride. It makes you understand that, with projects like these, Inter are a great club that respects the people who've been part of it."
