APPIANO GENTILE – Roberto Gagliardini's unveiling to the Nerazzurri world live on four digital channels proved to be a resounding success.
After training with his new team-mates for the first time on Thursday morning, the 22-year-old midfielder sat down in the Inter Channel studios to answer questions sent in by the fans on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Weibo.
The midfielder's live presentation on four digital channels, a unique event for a football club, drew around 300,000 fans from around the world: 15,000 via YouTube, 30,000 on Periscope – used to stream a live television broadcast for the first time in Italy – and 250,000 on Facebook, reaching 1.5 million organic fans with over 6,000 comments posted.
Meanwhile huge numbers of supporters followed events behind the scenes thanks to the live stories on Instagram and Snapchat, with a combined total of over a million views.
In China, Gagliardini's presentation was streamed during prime time on PPTV, with Chinese fans interacting via Weibo.
Besides being a huge success in terms of numbers, the event marks Inter's desire to forge ahead and form an increasingly strong bond with Nerazzurri fans around the globe.
