MILAN – By the end of the 1950s, Inter had already built up a considerable fan base. Recognising the love that abounded for the Nerazzurri colours, president Angelo Moratti began to devise an organisation that would bring together the Inter fans, floating the idea to his partners and the club’s coach at the time, Helenio Herrera.

The possibility of organising Inter supporters into clubs was examined at a meeting with some notable fans and Maurizio Migliori, who was the first person in Italian football to be responsible for stadium services and was also the active leader of a fan group named I Moschettieri (The Musketeers). This meeting laid the foundations for what would become the first Coordination Centre of clubs operating in Italy.

The press release announcing the establishment of the Inter Club project read as follows:

"After years spent battling for sporting honour – and after success achieved thanks to a desire to clinch the most prestigious trophies around – F.C. Internazionale di Milano wishes to bring its enthusiastic fans in Italy, Europe and the world together into an organised structure to help support the team and ensure that the fans play a decisive role in securing future victories.

"This has inspired the creation of the Inter Clubs, which are made up of Nerazzurri super fans and represent the true driving force behind the safeguarding and upkeep of the sporting and moral values of F.C. Internazionale all over the world."
