MILAN – Inter secured their fourth consecutive Serie A home victory against a stubborn Genoa this evening and Felipe Melo was delighted with heart on show from the Nerazzurri.
"This was a really important victory," the Brazilian said after the final whistle. "We've been angry at recent results, just like the fans. We know we have to do more and even in the last Europa League match we put heart into it.
"It may not have been our best performance from a technical point of view," Felipe Melo added, "but we picked up three points through our character.
"I'm pleased to have helped out the team; I'm not 22 years old anymore but I know I can help with my experience. I respected Frank de Boer's decisions. I developed a lot from a personal point of view under him because it's not easy being left out. I won my place back with hard work.
"I thank God and hope we can continue on the right track and pick up victories."
