AUSILIO: "PIOLI IS DOING A GREAT JOB"

The Nerazzurri sporting director was speaking in the moments building up to kick-off in Inter v Genoa at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

MILAN – Piero Ausilio gave the traditional pre-match interview this evening and used the opportunity to put an end to the rumours surrounding the future of the Nerazzurri coach.

"We're working with Stefano Pioli. He has a contract with Inter and we're cooperating together on the club's planning. He had three really tough games at the start of his tenure, but he's doing a great job and we're building Inter's future together with him and the owners. We've got a really good starting point in this squad."

Looking forward to the transfer window, Ausilio had this to say: "The one thing I do know is that we'll add to the squad, but we haven't spoken about names yet.

"Gabriel Barbosa is developing and improving; we never said there might not be positive surprises. He's training hard during the week and that's what we care about. There are so many examples of players who need time to make the difference, just think of Coutinho. When you have quality and talent, which Gabriel does, then the results will come.

"Are there any offers lined up for Ever Banega? Someone just needs to be benched once for the whole world to think everyone in the team is up for sale. Ever came here to do well for Inter."
