INTER V SPARTA: WHAT OUR OPPONENTS SAY

David Holoubek and Mario Holek speak at Sparta news conference: "We want to honour this match and get a result"

MILAN – Sparta Prague are coming to the Meazza to “honour the competition and get a result” despite having already secured top spot in Group K.

That was the message delivered by Czech coach Zdenek Svoboda and defender Mario Holek when they met with the gathered media at the Stadio Meazza on the eve of Inter v Sparta, the Nerazzurri's last game in the 2016/17 Europa League group stage.

"We want to field our strongest side to honour the competition but we'll also give some of our youngsters the chance to gain some experience,” explained Svoboda. “Inter will put out a quality side tomorrow too, even if they are missing some important players.”

Holek added: “We're under no pressure because we're through to the next round but we still want to get a good result.

“We might have as many as 2500 of our fans here and that will help to create a great atmosphere for us.

“Pioli knows a bit about us because we played Lazio while he was coach there. That will give Inter a slight advantage.”
