AUSILIO: "WE WANT TO TURN THINGS AROUND"

Nerazzurri sporting director interviewed by Mediaset Premium before Inter v Fiorentina

MILAN – Piero Ausilio was interviewed by Mediaset Premium before Inter's match against Fiorentina.

The first question was about the decision to start with Joao Mario on the bench.

“We have a very strong squad with excellent players,” Ausilio replied. “If Joao Mario isn't playing, it means there's another top-quality player there in his place. Joao will be useful to the cause if he comes off the bench or if he starts the next one.”

Asked about chairman Jindong Zhang's visit to Milan, the Nerazzurri sporting director explained: "It's not a surprise for us. The owners are much closer to the club than some people would have you believe. We speak every day and Steven Zhang is here nearly all the time."

Finally, on Inter's targets for the rest of the season: "We have take one game at a time. It may look like a big gap but anything can happen in Serie A if you hit a purple patch. We had a bad spell last year. This year we hope that a good run will see us turn things around.”
