SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – Stefano Vecchi lamented Inter's build-up play after his Primavera side were beaten 2-1 by Novara today.
The Nerazzurri U19s spent much of the Week 8 league encounter on the front foot but only managed to score once – Andrea Pinamonti's 11th of the season – while the visitors struck before the interval and again late on to claim the points.
"We bossed the match but came up short in the final third,” the Primavera coach observed after the final whistle. “Unfortunately we struggled to find the right combination once when we got near the edge of the opposition area.
“It was almost impossible for us to break through their backline with individual initiatives alone. We had them pegged back for most of the game but come away with a defeat.
“We need to play with a different spirit and a different attitude. We'll turn our thoughts to the next one straight away now and try to prepare properly for it during the week.”
