APPIANO GENTILE – Joao Mario has vowed to do all he can to win Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina for the Nerazzurri fans.
"The derby is very important. We want the three points and we’ll fight to get the win," said the Portuguese midfielder, speaking exclusively to Mediaset Premium at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti on Thursday.
"I’m sure it’s going to be a great match, as it always is when it’s the derby. We want to give the fans something to shout about," added Joao Mario.
The Nerazzurri No.6 is no stranger to the big stage, having started Portugal’s win in the Euro 2016 final back in the summer.
"Derbies and European finals are both special matches, but you prepare for them in a different way so you can’t really compare them," explained Joao Mario. "We want to win every game but we know that Sunday will be special for the fans. We want to win it for them."
