SANTIAGO – Gary Medel’s Chile earned an important victory over Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos.
Goals from Eduardo Vargas and a brace from Alexis Sanchez earned Chile a 3-1 win.
The Inter midfielder was picked to start the match by national team coach Juan Antonio Pizzi and remained on the field for the duration of the game.
