APPIANO GENTILE – Walter Samuel has told Inter Channel he is "delighted" to have joined the Inter coaching staff in his first interview since his return to the club.
"I’m delighted to have this opportunity and I will try to help the rest of the coaching staff so we can win our upcoming games, which I’m sure are going to be tough," began the Argentine.
Samuel won plenty of derbies in his playing days, even heading home the winner in one, but was keen to stress that Sunday’s match was the most important thing.
"The derbies I won are in the past – we need to look to the future now. We have to win for Inter. That’s the only thing that matters. We must do our best in the derby and in the games after that.
"I’ll try to use my experience to help the players and staff, but they’ll need to help me too because I have a lot to learn in this role. I had two wonderful years in Switzerland, but maybe it was a bit too quiet. It was a great experience," added Samuel.
