ZAGREB – Croatia ran out 2-0 winners against Iceland thanks to two goals from Marcelo Brozovic.
The Inter man was key to the win, as his side looks to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Brozovic opened the scoring after around fifteen minutes, rounding off a lovely move which began on halfway with a left-foot shot from the edge of the box.
In stoppage time at the end of the second half, the Croatian drove forward from in his own half before scoring with a lovely controlled finish from outside the area. This time he found the net with his right foot, giving Iceland goalkeeper Halldorsson no chance.
Ivan Perisic – who put in a good performance and came close to scoring in the first half – was sent off at the end of the game.
