MILAN – Former Inter midfielder Sandro Mazzola - one of club's greatest all-time players - turns 74 today.
Born on 8 November 1942 to the legendary Grande Torino captain Valentino Mazzola, Sandro always seemed destined for greatness. After scoring against Juventus on his Serie A debut in his home town of Turin, he went on to make 565 appearances in a Nerazzurri shirt notching up 158 goals across a 17-year career.
Mazzola was a key member of Helenio Herrera's Grande Inter that claimed three league titles, two European Cups and two Intercontinental Cups between 1962 and 1966.
A European championship winner with Italy in 1968, he later won a fourth Scudetto in 1970/71 with Gianni Invernizzi in the Nerazzurri dugout.
