RANOCCHIA: "WE'RE GUTTED BUT MUST MOVE ON"

Defender speaking after defeat to Southampton: "We gave everything we had tonight but clearly we need to give even more. Now we must focus on Crotone"

SOUTHAMPTON – Andrea Ranocchia revealed the sheer disappointment in the Inter dressing room after the Nerazzurri suffered a second-half turnaround at Southampton but insisted the team must redouble their efforts and kick on with a win against Crotone on Sunday.

“It's such a shame to lose given the way the game was going,” the defender began following the 2-1 Europa League reverse at St. Mary's Stadium.

“We really gave everything tonight. The lads all looked absolutely gutted but obviously it wasn't enough so we need to give even more.

“When you concede a goal at a ground like this with these fans they suddenly take courage but we were a little unlucky too.

“I thought it was a good response all the same. We're all determined to get going again and that was clear in the first half.

"Now we must quickly move on and focus on the next game. This one's gone. We have to prepare properly for the match against Crotone in front of our fans.”
