MILAN – We're winding the clocks back over fifty years for our Throwback Thursday moment today to when Jair made his debut for Inter.
The Brazilian star, who would play a starring role in the Grande Inter side, joined Inter in the 1962/63 season and made his debut on 1 November away against Genoa in Serie A.
Helenio Herrera's side made a strong start to the contest and broke the deadlock after just two minutes when Beniamino Di Giacomo won back the ball and played it to newcomer Jair, who scored the first of many in a Nerazzurri shirt.
Although Genoa equalised and temporarily got themselves back into the game, Di Giacomo and Giacinto Facchetti later scored to hand Inter the victory on what was a memorable first game for Jair.
