MILAN – Samir Handanovic was pleased with the team's performance this evening and believes the three points were just rewards.
"We played well and deserved the victory," said the Slovenian shot-stopper after Mauro Icardi's double ensured Frank de Boer's Nerazzurri defeated Torino. "We played well in the second half against Atalanta as well but paid dearly for a few mistakes.
"As for whether we've been unlucky, we just need to be more clinical. We make our own luck by working hard during the week.
"Was tonight a victory for De Boer? We always play for the club as a whole, the fans, the coach and ourselves. We have to give everything for this shirt and when things don't go right it's everyone's fault.
"Now it's important we build on this against Sampdoria on Sunday," Handanovic concluded, "otherwise tonight won't have been counted for anything. Football is a strange game, sometimes all you need is a week to change everything. However, it's up to us to find the turning point."
