BERGAMO – Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio spoke to Mediaset Premium ahead of kick-off between Atalanta and Inter on Sunday afternoon.
"The coach, like all of us, is focusing on preparing and winning each match as it comes, so today our focus is on the present and on Atalanta alone," began Ausilio.
Ausilio went on to respond to some of the criticism De Boer has faced so far in his Inter career.
"We certainly would have expected different treatment for a coach coming from abroad and putting everything he has into settling in quickly. Thankfully the only thing that matters is the opinion of the club and we believe in De Boer’s ideas.
"We speak every day in Appiano Gentile and there are no problems whatsoever with the club or the dressing room," insisted Ausilio.
"Obviously results are the most important thing here and when they don’t come everything is that little bit tougher, but we’re all united and I’m sure that it’s only a matter of time," continued the sporting director.
"De Boer has only been here for three months and we’ve had two international breaks, so he really hasn’t had much time to do his job. We’re convinced that the results will come."
Finally, Ausilio spoke about the Mauro Icardi situation.
"We spoke directly with the player and we made an important decision. Icardi looked very determined on Thursday and he worked hard and dug in with the rest of the team, despite not scoring. He played with his heart."
